The Powerhouse is located at the base of the dam. It accommodates 8 turbines, each haviing 300MW of generating capacity. Altogether, the Bakun Dam will have a generating capacity of 2400MW.

In addition to the 8 turbines with associated electrical and mechanical installations, erection and unloading bays, the powerhouse will also accommodate a control room, administration areas, workshops, oil rooms, battery rooms, SCADA room, stores for spare parts, pantries staircases, elevators and other areas normally expected in a large modern powerhouse.
